Climbing the Heights

It seems a lifetime ago

It seems a lifetime ago
As the rails cross the lane
Where once were we
Now its passing a mystery

The feelings then
The hope of something
New the season then
Delight of what was

Yet now if ever
Seems so far away
So now their passing
From January to May

From winter to spring
So sing the dreams
Of yesteryear
When the joy

Of then
Did set its heart
On when we
The chemistry

Depart
Now no more
Apart in matters
Of heart

Find we
Alone
Yet not

For in our doubts
And fears find we
The questions still
They wander in

But now this rest
Doth bring us round
To ground our hearts
And minds to you

You who formed us
You who know us
You who taught
Our souls to sing

And ere we find frail love
A fling shall surely if
We seek thee true
Find our one and only

Need we ere forget
And throw our hands
Up to the sky
Will not deny

Us of thy love
Most perfect
And complete
Tis all we ever
Need
